Working alongside [Morgan Carn Architects](https://www.morgancarn.com/), main contractor Osborne Construction, and specialist brickwork subcontractor [Face Brickwork Ltd](https://facebrickwork.com/), Vobster Architectural supplied bespoke wet cast stone elements that enhance key architectural features across the development. Used to frame entrances, define the building's external columns and create bespoke decorative detailing, the cast stone complements the surrounding brickwork while adding depth, character and a high-quality finish. The completed scheme provides a new synagogue, mikveh, nursery, classrooms, gym, café, kitchen, event space, offices, apartments and townhouses, creating a destination that will serve the local community for generations to come. ## **Concept to Completion** The BNJC development was designed to provide a modern and welcoming home for Brighton & Hove's Jewish community. A carefully considered palette of brick and stone was chosen to create a timeless architectural appearance, with bespoke detailing helping to reinforce the building's identity while reflecting the significance of the development. Vobster Architectural manufactured bespoke wet cast stone components for prominent external features throughout the scheme. These included the substantial entrance piers and vertical façade elements that frame the glazed ground floor, together with decorative carved stone panels that introduce subtle architectural interest to the brick elevations. Manufactured to precise dimensions, each component was designed to integrate seamlessly with the surrounding masonry, delivering crisp detailing and the appearance of natural stone. Throughout the design, manufacturing and delivery stages, close coordination between Vobster Architectural, Osborne and Face Brickwork ensured every cast stone component integrated seamlessly with the wider façade package. This collaborative approach supported efficient installation while delivering the high-quality finish required for such a significant community development. The completed BNJC development was recognised as a finalist in the [Constructing Excellence SECBE Awards](https://ce-awards.co.uk/) 2024, with Osborne praising the scheme for delivering beautifully designed and sympathetically crafted buildings that bring together worship, education, leisure, residential and community facilities within a single destination. Through its bespoke wet cast stone solutions, Vobster Architectural helped deliver architectural detailing that enhances the building's character while providing a durable, long-lasting finish.
