5 minutes with our Director, Aaron Cummings

At Vobster Architectural, it’s the skill and dedication of our team that underpins everything we do, from ensuring the quality of our cast stone and masonry products, to the ongoing innovation within our processes. Today, we’re talking to our Director Aaron Cummings who brings a wealth of experience from across the construction and manufacturing industries to his role at the helm. Aaron shares his career journey, industry insights and vision for Vobster Architectural moving forward.

Hi Aaron, thanks for taking the time to talk to us today. How long have you been working in the facades industry?

My time within the facades sector is relatively short, beginning when I joined Vobster Architectural around two and a half years ago. That said, I’ve been in the construction industry for my entire working life, so I’ve bought a lot of transferrable skills to my role which have been invaluable in leading our company.

Can you tell us a bit about your career before joining Vobster Architectural?

Yes, I started my career 20 years ago as an electrical apprentice with a local M&E company, before moving into manufacturing, first as an Applications Engineer and later as a Sales Manager for a large lighting company. Both roles allowed me to develop my skills and broaden my knowledge across different areas and sectors.

I later became Regional, then National Operations Manager at an industrial services company supporting the rail network, which gave me nationwide leadership experience. When the opportunity to lead Vobster Architectural came up, it felt like the next natural step to bring all of my knowledge and experience together!

Thanks for sharing Aaron, it’s interesting to understand more about your career to date. Have there been any standout moments since you took on the role with Vobster Architectural?

Seeing each project come to life is absolutely a standout moment. There’s a real sense of pride when we see how fantastic our products look, especially as we produce such a wide range of items that are mostly bespoke.

Aside from their bespoke nature, what excites you most about the products you produce today?

Their quality. Our cast stone products are some of the finest on the market, they’re a real credit to our team who work so hard to ensure we produce nothing but the best.

Looking ahead, what are your goals for 2025 and beyond at Vobster Architectural?

One of our key focuses is to expand our GRC offering. It’s currently a smaller part of our operation, but we see huge potential there. The goal is to grow this side of the business and establish ourselves as a major player in the GRC sector, while also boosting our overall revenue.

Is there anything else you’d like to share before we go?

Manufacturing in the building materials sector is certainly challenging, but with the right team and trusted partners, it’s incredibly rewarding. We’re really excited about the future and look forward to collaborating with our fantastic customers on many more standout projects moving forward.

Thanks very much for speaking to us Aaron, it’s been great to understand more about your career and your plans for the future of Vobster Architectural! We look forward to seeing what you achieve in 2025 and beyond.
