We've recently been working closely with Prime Meridian architects to create some bespoke Copings for a grand staircase leading up to a new Pavilion building at Channing School in Highgate, London.
The wet cast stone Copings are not only curved on plan, but also ramped on elevation. As a result of this the profiles of each of the Coping stones are twisted.
We started with the architects' plan showing the radius of the curve they were looking for and the drop in height that the wall will take and the required profile of the Coping stones. This was then translated by our in-house design team and drawn in a 3D package as a wireframe to show the stonework following the shape of the required wall.
These Copings will shortly be delivered to site and installed by main contractor Stone Cladding International - we're looking forward to seeing the finished project!
